George Finley's observations of the military scene are depicted in his art which he began publishing more than 45 years ago. His caricatures, mostly drawn from his personal experiences as a professional army officer, have become world renowned for their keen insight, humor and artistic excellence. As an artilleryman, his first print was of the Field Artillery. Since then his paintbrush has captured the pride of soldiers in several branches and, particularly, the world of army aviation. A very popular print is his memorable depiction of the military wife. It shows the challenging life she shares with her military husband and much of it is based on his mother's and his wife's personal experiences with their military husbands. George's caricatures have become classics for several generations of military folks. He takes great pride in hearing, "This is just the way it is!"
